Pilar Manalo Danao

Pilár Manalo Danáo (March 10, 1914 - 1980's?) also known as ''Ka Pilár'', the eldest daughter of Felix Y. Manalo, was the first Head Choir Directress of the Iglesia Ni Cristo (INC) serving from 1942 until death.〔 Instrumental in the creation of hymns for the church, she was the original composer-lyricist of the Tagalog ''Himnario'', INC's official hymnbook which originally contained about 220 songs〔75 Blessed Years of the Iglesia ni Cristo by Bienvenido Santiago〕 and first published in 1937. Since then, her name and initials (PMD) were imprinted on Tagalog hymnals and on all musical scores for the choir.〔
Upon her death, Fausto T. Perez assumed post as the Head Choir Director.〔 Liberty Manalo-Albert on the other hand, took in charge as the Coordinator or ''Tagapag-ugnay'' (in Filipino) of the choir to then Executive Minister Eraño G. Manalo while Gemma Manalo-de Guzman, daughter of Eduardo V. Manalo, held the post after the last.〔(【引用サイトリンク】title=Brother Eduardo V. Manalo brief biography )
The latest hymnal was released in 2011 bearing the name of Danao as its official lyricist in which it undergone intensive revisions through the help of INC Choir Directors and songwriters. By 2016, the church is expected to publish the new hymnal consisting of about 400 - 500 hymns with the addition of special hymns previously used in special worship services with other hymns which are originally part of the 1937 Himnario.
==Personal life==
Pilár de Guzmán Manalo was born on March 10, 1914 in Punta Santa Ana, Manila, Rizal Province (now part of Metro Manila) to Honorata de Guzman and Felix Manalo, regarded by the members of Iglesia ni Cristo as the ''Last messenger of God in these last days'', months before the beginning of the First World War and registration of the church to the Philippine Government. Her name literally means pillar which her father gave.〔 Few months later, her father decided to move on Tipas, Taguig to teach his newfound doctrines to hometown neighbors where Pilar spent childhood with her younger sister.〔
Pilar had five siblings named Avelina, Dominador, Salvador, Eraño (1925-2009), and Bienvenido, her sole surviving sibling which acts as current head of INC Engineering Department while her other brother Eraño assumed INC leadership after their father's death in 1963. She married Artemio Montes Danao, a dentist to whom she conceived two sons named Virgilio and Rolando. Her son Virgilio was later married to Lucia Ignacio Rivera and had seven children named Nelia, Artemio, Carlo Magno, Narzal, Rommel, Edwina and Eric.
